Update on the Bathroom Scale

I went to work and told the story of the new bathroom scale that weighs ten pounds heavier than my old scale. They think I look just fine and don't need to lose those same ten pounds again. I am thinking that they are just being polite.

I think that running it over with my car is good. However, I was so motivated this weekend that I have already lost two pounds and another eight pounds isn't a whole lot to lose. But what about the five pounds that I originally wanted to lose before I bought the new scale? Now we are up to thirteen pounds. That is significant.

I also discovered that all my jeans are either too big or too small.

I think this is making me crazy.

We have another snowstorm on the way. And high winds. And colder temperatures. That really makes me crazy.

I'm laughing out loud!!! Running it over with your car....so funny!!! I've always said the number on the scale doesn't matter...it's how you feel. :)

But I don't know how I feel. I didn't even own a scale for a long time. I thought just by going how my clothes fit was enough. Now I know the number and I'm crazy.

Here's how I would look at it. First ... two pounds is fabulous. That's 8 sticks of butter ... off your body. Wow! Now that's significant!

Next ... I'd run over the scale with the car ... on your way to buy new jeans (ones that fit perfectly). Woohoo ... eliminate guilt and a shopping trip all in one easy move.

I really like your blog. And btw ... thanks for stopping over at reduce footprints and following ... I'm going to follow your wonderful blog as well!

Take care!

I found that skirts solved the weight loss struggle.

On telling people about weight and feedback that you look fine - that's sweet of your co-workers but at the same time it's nice to lose the weight and hear everyone say you look great!

Good luck!!!

I am also in between sizes. My small jeans are too big and my big jeans are too small.

It's annoying, but I result to buy more clothes.

Good luck - 2 pounds is a great start.

Faulty scales are the worst..return it and buy a new pair of jeans:)

Thirteen isn't so many -- to get rid of, or just decide to keep!

Good luck whichever you decide.

I have avoided getting a new scale for just this reason. My 25-year-old scale doesn't wish me a happy birthday but it gives me the numbers I like to see. I think the brand name is, like, DeNile.

Jane, your comment took me a minute but I get it. Actually I used to never get weighed because if I had lost weight then I might as well eat and if I had gained weight then I might as well eat!!!
