My Mother

I cannot imagine how hard their life was. I know the ranch was named "The Lazy B" and that is about all I know. They did move back to Indiana in the late 30's and my mother finished high school there.

I love the dress she is wearing in the picture. I know that her mother made all her clothes and she wished that she could buy clothes from a store. You know kids always want what they can't have. I think she was about 9 years old in the picture.

My mother died at age 48 of Multiple Sclerosis. I value every picture that I have of her. I love looking at this young, healthy child's face.

What a very lovely picture of your mother.

I always enjoy looking at old pictures, they always seem show character.
I am so sorry you lost her at such a young age.

I like her rather timid smile and how the light bounces off the shine on her hair.

A lovely photograph.

She had some shiny hair, didn't she? And your grandmother was apparently more than just your average seamstress. Your mom died in 1967? 68? and mine in 1974.

And I still miss her.

Your mom was born around the same time as mine. I'm so sorry that she died so young. She's really lovely in her picture.

I have a feeling [certainly true in my case] that people know less [read very cursory] details of their mother's family. I have recenty initiatied an exercise of getting to know more details and it is frustrating.

It is a nice photograph of your mother.
